On or about Saturday, November 13th, 2021, around 4:38 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Troopers from the PSP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided under unknown conditions while driving eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Emergency responders pronounced one individual dead of their injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to Google Maps, the Pennsylvania Turnpike winds east and west through Somerset County, which is about 78 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Officials are still investigating the accident.
