On or about Thursday, December 16th, 2021, around 12:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of one individual. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported along Highway 70 just outside Vernon in Wilbarger County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the pickup truck they were driving allegedly veered over the center line of the roadway and struck a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead of their injuries at the scene of the collision.
According to Google Maps, Wilbarger County is situated about 196 miles northwest of downtown Dallas.
