Details:
On or about Monday, March 29th, 2021, around 7:07 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Deputies from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at the intersection of West Jersey Road and Route 78 in Toulon, Illinois.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when an SUV that was eastbound on West Jersey Road collided with an 18-wheeler on Route 78 under unspecified circumstances. Paramedics pronounced one individual dead at the scene of the accident. Police have not released the name of the victim or the name of the truck driver.
Route 78 runs north and south just west of Toulon, which is about 156 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
Police are still investigating the incident.
