On or about Tuesday, December 15th, 2020, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened along the West Pulaski Highway near Perryville, Maryland.
Authorities indicated one person died when an 18-wheeler and a car collided under unspecified conditions in the eastbound lanes near Principio Furnace Road. One individual was pronounced dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
Maryland State Police closed several eastbound lanes in order to tend to the scene and investigate. Troopers rerouted traffic from West Pulaski Highway onto Route 7 for three hours after the crash.
Perryville is located about 38 miles northeast of downtown Baltimore, according to Google Maps.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
