On or about Friday, October 30th, 2020, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left one man dead and another injured. Police said the accident happened on Gowanda State Road (Route 62) between the Milestrip and Wilcox intersections in North Collins, New York.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said that an as-of-yet unidentified man was killed when his pickup truck and a tractor-trailer collided head-on under unknown conditions. Paramedics pronounced the pickup truck driver dead, while the 18-wheeler driver was transported to ECMC Hospital with unknown injuries.
Examining the stretch of Route 62 on Google Maps shows a two lane roadway that runs north and south through North Collins, which sits about 23 miles south of Buffalo.
State and local police are still working to pin down what happened in the crash.
