On or about Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, around 4:10 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along Highway 10 in San Luis Obispo, California.
Authorities from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly suffered a tire blowout and struck a barrier, causing the excavator the truck was towing to tumble onto a nearby SUV. Emergency responders pronounced the woman driving the SUV dead of her injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 101 runs north and south through San Luis Obispo, which is about 189 miles north of Los Angeles.
