Details:
On or about Thursday, August 12th, 2021, around 11:00 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one man dead. Authorities from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the eastbound Interstate 10 service road in Baytown, Texas.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer that subsequently left the scene of the incident. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after the accident, but it is not clear if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through Baytown, with the scene of the accident situated not far from Thompson Road.
Police are still investigating the accident.
