On or about Friday, March 12th, 2021, around 5:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one person dead. Investigators said the accident happened along the northbound side of the New York State Thruway near Ramapo in Rockland County, New York.

Troopers from the New York State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when a tanker truck tractor-trailer and a car collided under unknown conditions. One person was pronounced dead following the accident, but police did not specify if the victim was in the car or the tractor-trailer.

Photos of the scene from the air show the tanker truck flipped a short distance off the side of the roadway.

State Police assisted at the scene of the incident.
