On or about Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, a major accident between a train and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one individual. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and officers from the Harrisonville Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when a tractor-trailer and a train collided under unknown conditions at a crossing on Brickplant Road. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead at the scene, but authorities did not specify which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the collision.
