Details:
On or about Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a train left one individual dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at a crossing on FM 1960 near the intersection with FM 2100 in Huffman, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the tractor-trailer they were driving was allegedly struck by a passing train when the truck had stopped on the tracks. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in the 12299 block of FM 1960 in Huffman, which is about 31 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
Officials are still working to pin down the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
