On or about Friday, January 15th, 2021, around 10:30 at night, an accident between a transit bus and a pedestrian claimed the life of one person. Deputies from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along 4th Street in Fieldsboro, New Jersey.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were hit by a transit bus as they were walking along or trying to cross 4th Street in the 200 block. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene a short time after they arrived. None of the six passengers aboard the bus reported injuries after the incident.
According to Google Streetview, 4th Street runs north and south directly through the center of Fieldsboro with two lanes.
State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the accident.
