On or about Monday, March 7th, 2022, around 5:30 in the morning, a single-vehicle truck accident left a 71-year-old man dead. Deputies from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Route 460 at Wenonah Avenue in Pearisburg, Virginia.
Spokespeople from the Virginia State Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 71-year-old man was killed when the truck he was driving allegedly lost control and rolled at or near the intersection of Route 460 and Wenonah Avenue. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of the West Virginia state line.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
