Details:
On or about Sunday, January 3rd, 2021, around 7:30 in the evening, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a truck towing a trailer left a 52-year-old man from Taft dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident happened along westbound State Road 58 near Highway 395 in Boron, California.
Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said an as-of-yet unidentified 52-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a truck towing a trailer when he exited his disabled vehicle on the shoulder. After striking the pedestrian, the truck towing the trailer fled the scene of the incident. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead of his injuries at the scene.
California Highway Patrol said that the driver and passenger of the truck towing the trailer exited the vehicle to asses the damage before driving off.
Google Maps shows Boron is located about 125 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
Police from multiple agencies are currently trying to track down the truck.
