On or about Friday, January 28th, 2022, around 6:26 in the morning, an accident between a box truck, a pickup truck, and an SUV left one man dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Officials from the CHP said the accident was reported along Highway 118 just outside Somis in Ventura County, California.

Representatives from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the GMC Yukon SUV they were in and a box truck collided head-on when one of them crossed over the center line of the roadway, causing a secondary collision with a nearby pickup truck. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the GMC Yukon dead of their injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Somis, which is about 53 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Police are still investigating the accident.
