On or about Wednesday, June 9th, 2021, around 11:10 at night, an accident between several cars and a tractor-trailer left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 35 near Basswood Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas.

Law enforcement officials said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed, while two other people were injured when three vehicles allegedly collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that had slowed or stopped for construction traffic. Paramedics pronounced one individual dead at the scene, while two other people were rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the crash.

According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 35 and Basswood Boulevard is about 8 miles north of downtown Fort Worth.

Police are still investigating the accident.
