On or about Thursday, April 8th, 2021, around 9:35 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer, a minivan, and an SUV left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Police said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 12 and Deer Park Boulevard in Deer Park, Illinois.
Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed and two others were injured when a minivan allegedly turned across traffic and into the path of a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer allegedly swerved to avoid the collision, but struck the minivan and a nearby SUV. Paramedics pronounced a passenger in the minivan dead, while the driver, and the driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Route 12 and Deer Park Boulevard is about 37 miles northeast of downtown Chicago.
Officers are still investigating the accident.
