Details:
On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 8:50 in the morning, a serious accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along Union Avenue near the intersection with Jose Ramos Court in Bakersfield, California.
Representatives from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the GMC SUV they were in allegedly collided with the side of a tractor-trailer as the truck was crossing Union Avenue. Police did not indicate if the truck was crossing at a protected turn. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the SUV dead after the accident, while a woman and child were taken to the hospital for treatment of major injuries after the accidnet.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Union Avenue and Jose Ramos Court is on the south side of Bakersfield.
Police are still investigating the accident.
