On or about Saturday, December 11th, 2021, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a U-haul box truck and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 78-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Sfaety said the accident was reported along the northbound Highway 75 service road in Van Alstyne, Texas.

Authorities from the area said 78-year-old Kenneth Crouchman was killed when the vehicle he was driving and a U-Haul box truck allegedly collided when the vehicles were merging. Emergency responders pronounced Crouchman dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any additional injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 75 runs north and south through the center of Van Alstyne, which is about 49 miles north of downtown Dallas.
