On or about Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, around 11:00 in the morning, a serious work accident left one individual dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 12700 block of East Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they allegedly fell into a trench and became ensnared in machinery. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead after the accident, but it is not currently clear if they died at the scene, or if they succumbed to their injuries a short time after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is not far from the exchange with Halsey Street.
State and local agencies are investigating the accident.
