A 21-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a garbage truck while attempting to use the crosswalk at Old Country and Glen Cove Roads. Nassau County Police report that the accident occurred sometime around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024. Police also report she was declared dead at the scene, and they are continuing their investigation.
