One person was injured following a collision between two semi-trucks on I-57 southbound near Salem, IL, on Friday, December 20, 2024. The Illinois State Police report the crash took place when a passenger car reportedly brake checked a the first semi-truck, causing it to swerve and rear-end the second semi-truck. The first driver then jackknifed, sending a load of timber blocks into the cab and across the interstate. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
