Details:

One person was killed after a semi-truck collided head-on with a passenger vehicle on I-74 westbound in Piatt County, IL. Troopers from the Illinois State Police say the accident took place around 11:53 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Initial reports indicate the semi was travelling west when it went across the median and collided head-on with an eastbound passenger vehicle. First responders pronounced one person from the passenger vehicle dead at the scene, but authorities have yet to confirm if that was the only occupant.

State Police, along with the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the accident.
