Details:
On or about Friday, May 7th, 2021, around 4:37 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a heavy-duty pickup truck claimed the life of a 71-year-old Emory woman. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 89 just outside Stinton in San Patricio County, Texas.
Texas DPS Troopers said 71-year-old Opal Blake Baker was killed when her car allegedly failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by a Ford F-350. Baker’s Honda was apparently exiting Highway 77 onto Highway 89 at the time of the accident. Paramedics pronounced Baker dead of her injuries after the collision, but officials did not specify if she died at the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 89 is a short distance north of Stinton, which is about 29 miles north of Corpus Christi.
