On or about Tuesday, October 10th, 2020, around 3:19 in the afternoon, an accident between a tanker truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 43-year-old Dakota City man. Police said the accident happened in the lanes of Highway 35 just outside Emerson in Dakota County, Nebraska.
State Police said 43-year-old Pablo Reyes was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly crossed from the westbound lanes and struck his eastbound tanker truck. Paramedics pronounced Reyes dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said this was the second fatal tractor-trailer accident on Highway 35 of the day. The first accident happened about 3 miles east of this accident.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
