Details:
On or about Friday, March 18th, 2022, around 6:30 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle dump truck accident left a 51-year-old man dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along 99th Street in Carmel, Indiana.
Spokespeople from the Indiana State Police said 51-year-old Paul Powell was killed and his as-of-yet unidentified passenger was injured when a gravel truck allegedly veered off the side of 99th Street and slammed into a tree a short distance off the pavement. Powell died a short time after the accident, while the passenger was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Carmel is about 23 miles north of downtown Indianapolis.
Police are still investigating the accident.
