On or about Friday, January 26th, 2021, around 8:50 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent a 25-year-old man and a 5-year-old to the hospital. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened at the intersection of Elsworth and Horizon in El Paso County, Texas.
Law enforcement sources said 25-year-old Pedro Cardenas and a 5-year-old were hurt when an 18-wheeler allegedly failed to yield while turning and struck their car. Paramedics transported Cardenas and the child to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police have since cited the driver of the tractor-trailer with failure to yield in connection with the accident.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene.
