On or about Thursday, April 21st, 2022, around 11:35 in the morning, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle escorting a funeral procession sent a police officer to the hospital. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Somerset and Old Somerset Road in San Antonio, Texas.
Local law enforcement representatives said an as-of-yet unidentified police officer was injured when the motorcycle they were on was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while escorting a funeral procession. Emergency responders transported the victim to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps the intersection of Somerset and Old Somerset Road is on the southwest side of San Antonio.
Authorities are still examining the cause of the accident.
