On or about Wednesday, July 28th, 2021, around 2:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a police patrol vehicle sent an officer to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported on the westbound side of FM 969 in Austin, Texas.
Officials from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said an unidentified police officer was seriously injured when the patrol vehicle he was driving allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that was in the middle of a U-turn across the roadway. Paramedics rushed the police officer to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature. Investigators did not mention any other vehicles in their statement.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance east of downtown Austin.
