Details:
On or about Monday, October 11th, 2021, around 7:22 in the morning, an accident between a tow truck and a pedestrian left a 69-year-old local man dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported in the 21500 block of Box Springs Road in Moreno Valley, California.
Investigators said 69-year-old Primitivo Martinez was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tow truck as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Box Springs Road. Emergency responders rushed Martinez to Riverside University Health System Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Moreno Valley is about 62 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Officials are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
