Details:
On or about Monday, November 16th, 2020, around 6:00 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of three people. State Police said the accident happened at the intersection of Troy Highway and Perimeter Parkway in Montgomery, Alabama.
Authorities indicated 22-year-old Quintarian Turner, 29-year-old Vernicia McClendon, and a third individual were killed when the southbound Jeep Patriot they were in was allegedly hit by a northbound tractor-trailer that attempted to turn westbound at the intersection. Turner, McClendon, and a third as-of-yet unidentified individual were pronounced dead following the collision.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was reportedly uninjured.
Looking at the scene of the collision on Google Maps shows Troy Highway is four lanes, with a grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic, while Perimeter Parkway appears to be a two lane turn off the highway. The intersection is not governed by a stoplight.
Police expect to release more information when it becomes available.
