On or about Monday, June 28th, 2021, around 12:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 42-year-old woman, and sent one other to the hospital. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported on the westbound side of Interstate 64 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said 42-year-old Rachelle Hinkle was killed, and one other was hurt when the vehicle they were in was allegedly hit by a wrong-way driver and a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Hinkle dead of her injuries after the accident, while the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the incident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 64 runs east and west along the north side of Lexington, with the scene of the accident situated not far from Third Street.
