On or about Friday, January 28th, 2022, around 9:15 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 29-year-old man dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore, California.
Authorities from the California Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Rafael Marchan was killed when the vehicle he was driving allegedly hit the back of a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of Interstate 15. Emergency responders pronounced Marchan dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 68 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
