Details:
On or about Saturday, February 6th, 2021, around 3:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a UPS truck and a tractor-trailer left a 25-year-old man dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident happened along Avenue 120 just outside Pixley in Tulare County, California.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Rayland Elzy was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the UPS truck he was driving while trying to pass. Elzy was ejected into the roadway after the initial collision and was run over by the 18-wheeler. Emergency responders pronounced Elzy dead after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance west of Highway 99 near Pixley, which is about 46 miles north of Bakersfield.
Troopers from the CHP and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
