On or about Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, around 8:35 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 59-year-old Missouri man dead. Officials from the KSP said the accident was reported along U. S. Highway 36 just outside Elwood in Doniphan County, Kansas.

Authorities from the Kansas Highway Patrol said 59-year-old Raymond Sauter was killed when the car he was driving allegedly hit the back of a slow moving tractor-trailer along Highway 36. Emergency responders pronounced Sauter dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Elwood, which is about 55 miles north of downtown Kansas City.
