On or about Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, around 10:40 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 72-year-old woman dead. Officers from the area said the accident occurred on the southbound side of Highway 69 just outside Alto in Cherokee County, Texas.

Department of Public Safety Troopers said 72-year-old Rebecca Stone Lindsey was killed when her car allegedly struck the back of a southbound tractor-trailer on Highway 69. Paramedics pronounced Lindsey dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 52-year-old Edward Rhodes, who was unhurt in the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 5 miles south of the Alto city limits, which is about 139 miles southeast of Dallas.
