Details:
On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 8:36 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 52-year-old woman dead, and sent a 32-year-old man to the hospital. Officials from the DPS said the accident was reported at the intersection of SR 300 and FM 726 in Upshur County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 52-year-old Regena D. Avila was killed, while 32-year-old Aaron Dorsey was injured when the car they were in allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of SR 300 and FM 726 when it collided with a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Avila dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident, while Dorsey was taken to UT-Health East Texas where he was last reported in critical condition by medical staff. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 48-year-old Allen Scott, who was transported to Longview Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Upshur County is about 124 miles east of downtown Dallas.
