Details:
On or about February 27th, 2022, around 5:00 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run car accident left a 68-year-old man dead. Spokespeople from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of 7th Street and Pleasant Valley Road in Austin, Texas.
Officers from the Austin Police Department said 68-year-old Ricardo Alvarado was fatally injured when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was walking near or across the lanes at 7th and Pleasant Valley. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Paramedics rushed Alvarado to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries several days after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 7th Street and Pleasant Valley Road is on the east side of Austin.
Officials are still trying to find the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
