On or about Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, a major accident between a dump truck and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 53-year-old man. Troopers from the WSP said the accident was reported along State Road 92 in Snohomish County, Washington.
Representatives from the Washington State Patrol said 53-year-old Richard E. Choptij was killed when the motorcycle he was on collided with a dump truck under unknown conditions along SR92. Emergency responders pronounced Choptij dead a short time after they responded to the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Granite Falls.
