On or about Friday, February 26th, 2021, around 2:22 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 62-year-old man. Investigators said the accident was reported along Route 206 in Andover Township, New Jersey.
State Police said a UPS tractor-trailer was allegedly backing across the northbound lanes of traffic into the dock at Thorlabs when it was struck by a car driven by 62-year-old Richard Hamm. Emergency responders pronounced Hamm dead of his injuries after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report.
Investigators shut both north and southbound lanes of Route 206 in order to tend to the scene.
Police are still investigating.
