On or about Thursday, February 23rd, 2022, around 2:30 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along Highway 501 in Horry County, South Carolina.
Authorities from the area said Ricky Dale Wallace Jr. was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 501. Emergency responders pronounced Wallace dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their report on the accident.
