Details:
On or about Saturday, September 25th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a car left a 20-year-old Troy woman dead. Officials from the ISP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 70 near Interstate 55/270 in Madison County, Illinois.
Investigators said 20-year-old Riley Schreck was killed when her car allegedly collided with the side of a dump truck that was backing across all the westbound lanes of Interstate 70. Paramedics rushed Schreck to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through southern Madison County, which is situated on the northeast side of St. Louis.
Officials are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
