On or about Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a police patrol vehicle left a 27-year-old deputy dead. Spokespeople from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Interstate 45 in Houston, Texas.
Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said 27-year-old Robert Adam Howard was killed when the police patrol vehicle he was driving allegedly veered off the side of I-45 and struck a tractor-trailer that had pulled off to the side of the roadway. Emergency responders rushed Howard to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the collision is a short distance from Woodlands Parkway.
Multiple agencies are investigating in the accident.
