On or about Friday, October 9th, 2020, around 6:28 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 57-year-old man dead. The accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.

Local law enforcement spokespeople said that 57-year-old Robert Scott Cappetta was killed when he was hit by a tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 after he allegedly exited the van he was driving following a single-vehicle accident. Cappetta was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

A review of Google Maps shows that Interstate 40 runs east and west through Pottawatome County, which is located just north of Shawnee.

State and local law enforcement are still investigating the accident.
