Details:
On or about Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, around 4:13 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 44-year-old Jarrell man. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported along southbound Interstate 35 just outside Salado in Bell County, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives said 44-year-old Robert Daniel Taylor was killed when the pickup truck he was driving allegedly veered off southbound I-35 and struck the back of a disabled tractor-trailer on the shoulder. Emergency responders pronounced Taylor dead of his injuries a short time after he was cut from the wreckage. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 runs north and south along the western edge of Salado, which is about 51 miles north of Austin.
Police are still investigating.
