On or about Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, around 6:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 54-year-old man dead. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along Highway 59 near Livingston in Polk County, Texas.

Officials said 54-year-old Robert Montgomery was allegedly struck and killed by a southbound tractor-trailer. Paramedics pronounced Montgomery dead of his injuries when they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 49-year-old Tyrone Freeman and passenger as 43-year-old Randy Bright. They were uninjured in the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident was about a mile north of the Livingston city limits. Livingston is about 73 miles north of Houston.
