On or about Thursday, May 7th, 2021, around 6:08 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a Ford Mustang sent a 75-year-old man to the hospital. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Interstate 35 and 210th Street just outside Clear Lake in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said 75-year-old Robert Paulsen was injured when his Ford Mustang and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified conditions. Paramedics transported Paulsen to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity stemming from the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the crash.
Interstate 35 runs north and south through the center of Clear Lake, which is situated about 114 miles north of Des Moines, according to Google Maps.
Iowa State Police assisted local officials after the incident.
