Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 8th, 2022, around 1:25 in the afternoon, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 65-year-old man dead. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported along Highway 594 in Greene County, Mississippi.
Spokespeople from the Mississippi State Patrol said 65-year-old Robert Thompson was killed when his vehicle was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer along Highway 594. Emergency responders pronounced Thompson dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not currently clear if he died at the scene or after he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, Highway 594 winds east and west through Greene County.
Authorities are still investigating.
