On or about Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, around 1:55 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident left a 53-year-old Fritch man dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along State Highway 136 near Amarillo in Potter County, Texas.
Investigators said 53-year-old Rodney Valle was killed when the pickup truck he was in allegedly skidded off the side of State Highway 136 and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Valle dead from the injuries he suffered when he was ejected from the vehicle in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about nine miles north of downtown Amarillo.
Officials are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
