On or about Monday, June 7th, 2021, around 5:50 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a truck claimed the life of a 66-year-old man. Police said the accident was reported on South County Road West just outside Odessa, Texas.
Investigators said 66-year-old Rogelio Gonzales was killed when he was allegedly struck by a truck as he was walking along or making an attempt to cross South County Road West. Paramedics pronounced Gonzales dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
South County Road West runs north and south, with the scene of the accident situated a short distance south of Interstate 20, according to Google Maps.
Police are still investigating the incident.
