Details:
On or about Thursday, November 11th, 2021, around 9:30 at night, a major accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 23-year-old Lubbock man. Officials from the DPS said the accident was reported along Highway 84 just outside Anton in Hockley County, Texas.
Authorities from the Hockley County Sheriff’s Department said 23-year-old Rogelio Juarez was killed when the car he was driving allegedly collided head-on with a tractor-trailer while driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 84. Paramedics pronounced Juarez dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to University Medical Center with unspecified injuries after the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of Anton, which is about 25 miles northwest of downtown Lubbock.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
